Finland: Environmental activists plan to hold protest march in Helsinki, Sept. 3

Environmental activists affiliated with Extinction Rebellion Finland plan to stage a protest march through central Helsinki from 12:00 Sept. 3 to demand policymakers improve environmental policies. Attendees will gather at 12:00 in front of the Parliament Building; participants will march from 15:00 along Mannerheimvage and Sodra Esplanaden, and end the march in front of the Smolna Building. Several hundred people are likely to attend the march.

Authorities will almost certainly deploy increased security to monitor the event. Localized road travel and transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the protest march. The demonstration will likely remain peaceful.
