A roadside bomb targeted a convoy carrying a foreign delegation in Swat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Sept. 22. The explosion took place on Malam Jabba Road, near the Jahanabad area, and left four security personnel injured. The delegation was carrying nationals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Portugal; none of them were injured in the blast. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

A considerably heightened security force presence remains in the area. Authorities have cordoned off the impacted area and will likely maintain a heightened security posture as a precaution. Associated localized transport and business disruptions are likely.
