Further sporadic clashes are possible between members of local tribal communities over a land dispute in Kurram District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, through at least early October. Initial clashes involving gunfire erupted on July 24 with intermittent attempts to call for a ceasefire. The most recent wave of isolated incidents began in mid-September, with heavy gun firing having occurred in several parts of the district, including Khar Kallay and Sadda. As of Sept. 24, the violence has left at least 15 people dead.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain an increased security presence and could implement enhanced restrictions, including temporary public movement curbs, depending on operational needs. Associated localized transport and business disruptions are highly likely. Retaliatory or opportunistic attacks, mainly on government, police, and military personnel and/or facilities, may occur. Typical tactics include small-scale bombings using vehicles or suicide attackers.
