Portugal: Authorities to close Porto Airport for runway maintenance Sept. 10

Authorities plan to close Porto Airport, Portugal, for scheduled runway maintenance, Sept. 10. Reconfirm flights.

Informational

Authorities plan to close Porto Airport (OPO) in Porto for runway maintenance on Sept. 10. There will be no flights operating to or from OPO on the day. The airport closure forms part of a 19-month maintenance schedule, which started on July 31, to improve the runway at OPO. The airport is expected to resume operations as normal after Sept. 10.

Lingering flight disruptions are possible as airlines work to clear flight and passenger backlogs. Further airport closures are possible at OPO if maintenance works are not completed as scheduled.

Reconfirm flight schedules if planned to fly via OPO Sept. 10. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider using alternative transport for time-sensitive travel to or from Porto.
