Activists plan to protest at Victory Palace in Bucharest from 10:00-15:00 Sept. 19. The demonstration will denounce proposed cuts to pensions for blind individuals. It is not immediately clear how many participants may attend; however, approximately 100 people appeared to attend a related demonstration Sept. 16.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
