The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) plans to protest on Jinan Road outside the Legislative Yuan in Taipei from 18:30 Sept. 8 to denounce the arrest of their leader, Ko Wen-je. Police have deployed 120 officers near the Legislative Yuan since Sept. 7 in preparation for any disturbances in the area. Participation will likely be in the hundreds.
Localized transport disruptions are likely around the event site, especially on Jinan Road. Minor scuffles are possible between opposing activists or if authorities attempt to disperse the gathering forcibly.
Exercise caution around the protest site. In the event of violence, leave the area immediately for a secure, nongovernment building. Allow additional time for travel to nearby destinations; use alternative routes to circumvent the rally site. Heed all local security and traffic advisories.
