Authorities responding after airplane makes emergency landing in Erzurum, Turkiye, Sept. 6, due to bomb threat. Nearby airspace closed.
Authorities have closed airspace near Erzurum Airport (ERZ) as of early evening on Sept. 6 after a plane made an emergency landing there. Vistara (UK) flight UK27, scheduled to fly from Mumbai to Frankfurt, made an emergency landing at ERZ following a reported bomb threat. Passengers were evacuated from the aircraft and authorities are searching the plane. It was not immediately clear when authorities expected to conclude their operation and for normal services to resume.
Flights via ERZ will remain suspended until authorities reopen nearby airspace. Travel via ERZ in the hours after the operation ends will likely be disrupted as airlines attempt to reposition stock. Heightened security is likely at ERZ.
Confirm travel via ERZ. Allow additional time for travel via ERZ through at least late Sept. 6. Strictly heed all instructions from authorities.
