Rallies by pro-Palestinian activists are scheduled in several cities across the US and Canada on Oct. 5 in response to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. The following events are among the demonstrations confirmed by organizers:

US

  • Dallas, Texas: The Grassy Knoll, 12:00

  • Austin, Texas: City Hall, 13:00

  • Atlanta, Georgia: Centennial Olympic Park, 14:00

  • Boston, Mass.: Cambridge City Hall, 14:00

  • Houston, Texas: City Hall, 14:00

  • Indianapolis, Indiana: Lugar Plaza, 14:00

  • Los Angeles, Calif.: Pershing Square, 14:00

  • New York, N.Y.: Times Square, 14:00

  • Seattle, Wash.: Seattle Waterfront Pier 62, 14:00

  • San Diego, Calif.: 1600 Pacific Highway, 14:00

  • Orlando, Florida: City Hall, 16:00

Most demonstrations that materialize will probably draw several hundred attendees, but participation in the thousands or tens of thousands is possible in some major cities. Protests in other locations are likely.

Authorities will likely deploy an increased security presence near any gatherings. Counter-protests are possible in some locations. Although most demonstrations will likely remain peaceful, clashes between groups of rival activists, and between activists and police have occurred. Localized security-related transport and business disruptions are likely.

Exercise caution near any rallies that materialize. Heed instructions from authorities. Plan accordingly for localized road travel delays. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
