US: Postal workers to rally nationwide on Oct. 1

Unionized postal workers affiliated with the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) will rally outside postal offices across the US to demand pay increases and better working conditions, among other things, on Oct. 1. While rallies are scheduled in multiple cities nationwide, the most significant events will likely occur at the following locations:

  • Baltimore, Maryland: Demonstration at the Baltimore General Mail Facility from 15:00.

  • Boston Mass.: Rally at Boston General Mail Facility from 15:00.

  • Brooklyn, New York: Rally at Conairse Station from 11:30.

  • San Antonio, Texas: Rally from 07:30 at the San Antonio Post Office and Distribution Center.

  • Honolulu, Hawaii: Rally at the Honolulu Post Office and Distribution Center from 08:00-10:00.

  • New Orleans, Lousiana: Rally at New Orleans Post Office and Distribution Center from 12:00.

  • Phoenix, Arizona: Rally at Pheonix General Mail Facility starting at 08:00.

  • Wichita, Kansas: Wichita Post Office rally from 07:00-10:00.

  • Richmond, Virginia: Rally in front of the Richmond Post office from 11:00.

  • New York, New York: Demonstration at James A Farley Post Office from 11:00.
