Environmental activists plan to stage a protest march through central Vienna from 13:00 on Nov. 2. The purpose of the event is to denounce the use of animal products for the production of clothing. Participants will gather at the corner of Marien Street and Kaiser Street and march towards Stephans Square, where the event will conclude at 16:30. Several hundred activists are likely to participate.
Heightened security is likely along the march route and near the rally points. Localized transport and road travel disruptions are likely in central Vienna until the end of the event.
Avoid the demonstration area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
