Belgium: Brussels South Charleroi Airport cancels outbound flights for Oct. 22 due to security staff strike

Officials at Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) have canceled all outbound flights on Oct. 22 due to a planned strike by security personnel. According to CRL authorities, the strike has resulted in a shortage of security staff, and the safety of passengers and staff can not be assured. Passengers booked on outbound flights from CRL on Oct. 22 will be contacted by their respective airlines for a refund or to reschedule.

Inbound flights to CRL will continue to operate on Oct. 22, but delays are possible due to the staff shortage. Flights are expected to resume on Oct. 23, but lingering flight disruptions are possible as airlines reposition aircraft and work through passenger backlogs. Further cancellations could occur if the security strike is extended.
