Officials are evacuating Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ) as of the afternoon of Oct. 25 due to a bomb threat. Preliminary reports indicate that an unidentified individual provided an anonymous tip detailing the presence of explosives in the airport. Police are investigating the threat. Airport operations are disrupted.

Increased security measures, localized transport disruptions, and flight delays are possible over the coming hours. Lingering disruptions extend for several hours after authorities give the all-clear as airlines reposition aircraft and work through their passenger backlogs.

Confirm flights before departing for the airport if booked to travel via SJJ through the afternoon of Oct. 25. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Heed the instructions of security personnel; allow extra time to reach the airport and clear security.
