Disruptions, tight security ongoing as crews continue to respond to building fire in Old Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Oct. 4.
Firefighters have been working to contain and extinguish a fire that has affected a building at the corner of Notre-Dame and Bonsecours streets in Old Montreal, Quebec, since early Oct. 4. More than 125 firefighters have responded to the fire that reportedly started on the first floor of a winebar at 400 Notre-Dame St. East in Old Montreal. Reports indicate at least two people died in the fire, and one more is critically injured. Officials are investigating the fire, which they consider broke out under suspicious circumstances.
Significant disruptions in the area, including road and business closures near the affected building, are likely until at least late Oct. 4.
