National Health Fund workers plan to strike and stage protests in Santiago, Chile, Oct. 10-11. Localized disruptions likely.

Workers of the National Health Fund (Fondo Nacional de Salud, FONASA) plan to stage protests in Santiago amid a strike Oct. 10-11. On Oct. 10, protesters will gather at Calle Monjitas 665 from 10:00 before marching to La Moneda Palace, opposite Plaza de la Constitucion. On Oct. 11, participants will gather at Avenida Vicuna Mackenna Ponient 6001 from 10:00. Participants will make a series of labor-related demands.

Additional related protests may also take place in Santiago and other cities, especially outside government buildings, Oct. 10-11. Heightened security and localized travel disruptions are likely near demonstrations. Isolated skirmishes are possible if police attempt to disperse the demonstrators. Disruptions to health services cannot be ruled out Oct. 10-11.
