Members of several organizations affiliated with the umbrella group United for Life Colombia (Unidos por la Vida Colombia) plan to hold rallies in multiple cities in Colombia on Oct. 19. The actions are to oppose a recent government guideline allowing medical procedures on transgender minors.
Some of the confirmed protest locations are the following:
Barranquilla: Plaza de la Paz, 15:00
Bogota: Parque Nacional, 10:00
Bucaramanga: Parque de los Ninos, 09:00
Cali: Parque Panamericano, 10:00
Cartagena: Torre del Reloj, 15:00
Cucuta: Parque Santander, 10:00
Medellin: Parque El Poblado, 10:00
Pereira: Plaza de Bolivar, 15:00

Some of the demonstrations, especially in Bogota, may gather several thousand people. Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near protest areas. Protests in other locations are also likely. Counter-protests cannot be ruled out, but clashes are unlikely to occur.
As a precaution, avoid all protests on Oct. 19. Plan for delays and alternative routes if operating near the protest areas.
