Over a hundred people are demonstrating near the Jayaprakash Narayan International Centre in the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh State, the afternoon of Oct. 11. The members and supporters of the Samajwadi Party are denouncing the Uttar Pradesh government for allegedly blocking Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's scheduled visit to the site.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain an increased security presence in the vicinity over the coming hours.
