Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near Neot HaKikar, near the south of the Dead Sea, following a shooting on Oct. 18. Reports indicate at least two people have been injured. Preliminary reports indicate that the two suspects entered Israeli territory from the Jordanian border and opened fire at security forces, wounding two of them. Security forces on the ground reportedly neutralized the shooters.

Additional similar incidents cannot be ruled out over the coming days in Israel amid prevailing heightened tensions. Increased security, especially along the Jordanian border, localized transport, and business disruptions are likely to occur while authorities investigate the incident.
