Israel: Officials reopen country's airspace following temporary closure Oct. 1 /update 1

Officials in Israel reopen the country's airspace Oct. 1 following Iranian missile attack; residual flight disruptions likely.

Warning

Israeli authorities have reopened the country's airspace Oct. 1 following a brief closure due to escalating security risks in the region, including an Iranian missile attack against Israel. Airport authorities have stated flights will likely resume at Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) around 22:00 Oct. 1.

Residual disruptions will probably continue to affect flights transiting or serving Israel for at least several hours after airport operations resume as airlines work to reposition aircraft and clear passenger backlogs.

Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via an Israeli airport or Israeli airspace. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
