Israel: Police response continues following a shooting in Be'er Sheva, Oct. 6 /update 1

Heightened security is likely near the Be'er Sheva Central Bus Station through Oct. 6 following an earlier security incident. An assailant carried out an attack at the site, killing one person and injuring at least nine others. The assailant was shot and killed at the scene. There is no known ongoing threat in the area. The motive for the attack is unclear; however, a connection to ongoing heightened tensions in the region is almost certain.

Heightened security is likely in the vicinity of the station in the coming hours. Disruptions to transportation are possible as the security response continues.
