Italy: Unionized easyJet pilots to hold four-hour strike at Milan, Naples, and Venice airports, Oct. 27
Unionized easyJet pilots to strike at Milan, Naples, and Venice airports in Italy, 13:00-17:00 Oct. 27. Flight disruptions likely.
Pilots employed by easyJet (U2) affiliated with the UIL Trasporti union plan to strike at Milan Malpensa International Airport (MXP), Naples International Airport (NAP), and Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) from 13:00-17:00 Oct. 27. The purpose of the strike is to demand increased wages and improved working conditions.
While the strike will primarily impact easyJet flights at MXP, VCE, and NAP, flight operations at other Italian airports could also face disruptions. Lingering disruptions could persist through Oct. 27 as the airline deals with any passenger backlog and repositions aircraft and crew. Picketing is possible at MXP, VCE, and NAP during the work stoppage.
Confirm flight arrangements if booked to fly with easyJet via MXP, VCE, or NAP on Oct. 27. Consider alternative arrangements for critical travel. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Avoid possible demonstrations as a standard precaution.
