Authorities have responded to an explosion and subsequent fire that killed one person and injured two others in the Cumbres residential area in Cancun on Oct. 10. The cause of the explosion is unknown; however, reports suggest a worker may have been handling flammable substances. As a result, there is currently one fatality and two more casualties.
Increased security and transport disruptions are likely in the affected area over the short term.
