Mexico: Foreign national killed in Altar, Sonora, Oct. 18

A US national was killed on Oct. 18 in Altar, Sonora. The incident occurred when armed assailants opened fire on the victim's vehicle as he was from Nogales to Puerto Penasco with his family. Authorities are investigating the incident but as yet no arrests have been made. It remains unclear whether the victim was specifically targeted.
