Warning

A march by student activists is underway in Morelia, Michoacan State, the evening of Oct. 16. Madero Poniente to the Palace of Justice, which they vandalized and launched a firework into. Activists have also damaged stores in the area.

Heightened security measures and disruptions to transport and business are likely over the coming hours in affected areas. Clashes between protesters and police are possible.

Avoid the rally as a precaution and to minimize travel delays. Consider taking alternative routes to circumvent areas subject to protest activity and related disruptions.
