A vehicle struck persons attending a gathering near the Guadalajara Cathedral in Guadalajara, Jalisco State, Mexico, late Oct. 26 injuring 16 people. The driver of the vehicle was reportedly intoxicated and had, prior to striking persons near the cathedral, struck and injured three others near the Corona Market after stealing the vehicle. The suspect was arrested after the incident. There is no known ongoing threat in the area. Officials continue to investigate the incident.
Heightened security is likely near the scene of the incident through at least early Oct. 27.
