Groups campaigning against overtourism will protest in Lisbon from 09:00 Oct. 9. Participants plan to gather in six locations in the city: Praca do Municipio, Lisbon City Hall, Chiado, Sao Pedro de Alcantara, Portas do Sol, and Avenida da Liberdade. Several thousand people took part in previous events in recent weeks. The protests are scheduled to end at 13:00.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest sites. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers are possible.
