Unionized dockworkers suspend strike at ports along US East and Gulf coasts through at least Jan. 15, 2025, effective the evening of Oct. 3.

Warning

Dockworkers affiliated with the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) suspended their strike as of the evening of Oct. 3. The move comes after union leaders reached a tentative deal on wages with the United States Maritime Alliance, LLC. According to the ILA, the industrial action has been suspended until at least Jan. 15, 2025, to allow time to negotiate all other outstanding issues between labor and management. Longshoremen will be returning to work Oct. 4.
