Suspected Boko Haram militants killed ten people during an attack in the locality of Ldamang, Mayo-Tsanaga Department, Far North Region, late on Nov. 12. Assailants then targeted another nearby village, but security forces responded killing at least four Boko Haram militants.
Despite a heightened military presence, militants will continue to pose a significant threat to security over the near term, particularly in the border areas with Nigeria and Chad. Regular attacks on civilian settlements and security forces positions are almost certain to continue.
Liaise with trusted contacts and confirm the viability of conducting operations in northern Cameroon. Heed the directives of local security forces and travel with easily accessible personal identification to facilitate movement through checkpoints. Maintain regular contact with diplomatic missions, travel only in convoy, and during daylight hours.
