Warning

Authorities have launched an operation to dispose of an unexploded World War II bomb at the corner of Neutorstrasse and Karlstrasse near Ulm Central Rail Station in Ulm late Nov. 25. Officials have established a 300-meter (328-yard) cordon within which all buildings are to be evacuated and traffic restricted. The intended duration of the operation was not immediately clear.

Heightened security will likely continue in the affected area over the coming hours. Associated localized road travel disruptions are probable. The railway station closure will likely prompt significant train disruptions for rail travel via Ulm.

Consider taking alternate routes to reduce travel delays if traveling through Ulm into the morning of Nov. 26. Allow additional time for travel near the operation site. Strictly heed all instructions from authorities.
