Farmers to stage vehicular road marches, rallies in several cities across Germany Nov. 20-23. Heightened security, disruptions likely.

Farmers and activists from agricultural groups plan to stage a series of vehicular road marches an rallies in parts of Germany Nov. 20-23. The purpose of the action is to forward several socio-economic demands and condemn certain government policies. The event is the latest in a campaign of sporadic demonstrations that began in early 2024.

Organizers have announced the following itinerary and gatherings:

  • Haibach: Assemble and depart 09:00 Nov. 20

  • Neustadt an de Aisch: Arrive 17:00 Nov. 20, with rally at Sommerkeller Festival Grounds 18:00-20:00; depart 08:30 Nov. 21

  • Erfurt: Arrive 17:00 Nov. 21, with rally at Tor zur Stadt RV Park 18:00-20:00; depart 08:30 Nov. 22

  • Berlin: Arrive about 17:00 Nov. 22; miscellaneous events 11:30-17:30 Nov. 23, including a vehicular convoy through the city center and rally at Brandenburg Gate

Heightened security is likely near demonstration sites as a precaution. Transport disruptions will probably occur along thoroughfares between points along the itinerary; traffic disruptions will be particularly severe in central Berlin on Nov. 23. Road travel disruptions will probably extend beyond the end of scheduled events as participants remove tractors and agricultural equipment from the major roads.

Avoid all demonstrations as a standard precaution. Allow additional time destinations near rally sites or on major roadways impacted by slow-moving farm vehicles. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
