Authorities plan to dispose of several unexploded WWII-era bombs at the former railway freight station area in Osnabruck's Fledder District on Nov. 17. Authorities will establish a mandatory evacuation zone of 1 km (0.6 miles) around the site; residents must leave the area before 07:00. The evacuation will impact up to 14,000 residents and the nearby Marienhospital and Christian Children's Hospital. Osnabruck's railway station will also be closed and train traffic diverted until at least 19:00. The disposal operation is expected to take several hours.
