Guatemala: Teachers marching in Guatemala City on Nov. 21

Teachers have launched a protest march in Guatemala City on Nov. 21 to make several labor-related demands. Participants have gathered at Plaza Obelisco and are marching towards the Historic Center (Centro Historico). The march route will likely include stops near the Congress of the Republic (Congreso de la Republica), the Presidential House (Casa Presidencial), and the National Palace of Culture (Palacio Nacional de la Cultura). Local officials estimate the demonstration will last several hours and end between 15:00 and 17:00 at Plaza de la Constitucion. The demonstration may disrupt Transmetro bus services in the capital.
