Mexico: Activists to march in Oaxaca from 10:00 Nov. 15
Activists plan march from Crucero de Viguera to Zocalo in Oaxaca, Mexico, morning of Nov. 15. Tight security, transport disruptions likely.
Members of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educacion, CNTE) plan to stage a protest march in Oaxaca City on Nov. 15. The purpose of the action is to demand that the current government address their demands. Protesters will initially gather at Crucero de Viguera from 10:00 before marching towards the Zocalo in the Centro Historico area. The amount of participants the event may draw remains unclear; however, large crowds are likely to participate.
Localized business transport and business disruptions are likely along the march route. Authorities will probably maintain a heightened posture as a precaution. Clashes between security forces and protesters cannot be ruled out, especially if authorities attempt to forcibly disperse protesters.
Avoid the demonstration as a precaution. Plan for extra travel time near the affected area. Heed all official transport and security advisories.
