Portugal: Unionized metro workers plan partial strike in Lisbon 05:00-10:00 Dec. 3

Unionized workers at the Metropolitano de Lisboa plan to conduct a partial strike 05:00-10:00 Dec. 3. The work stoppage, organized by the FECTRANS and STRUP unions, is being held to demand better working conditions. Another partial strike is planned for Dec. 10.

Unless averted, the strike is likely to cause train service disruptions. Increased demand for alternative forms of transport is probable. Residual disruptions may occur after the strike ends. While organizers did not announce any protest plans, workers could picket at stations across the city.
