Activists to protest at Port of Ambarli in Istanbul, Turkiye, from 15:00 Nov. 17. Heightened security likely; port disruptions possible.
Activists plan to protest at the Port of Ambarli in Beylikduzu, Istanbul, from 15:00 Nov. 17. The purpose of the demonstration is to demand that ships servicing Israel be blocked from Turkish ports. Participants will gather at Haramidere Sanayi Bus Stop at 14:00 before marching to the port. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend.
Police will likely deploy to facilitate the demonstration. Associated road closures may prompt travel disruptions. The demonstration may disrupt the arrival and departure of shipments via the Port of Ambarli. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, frustrated motorists or other opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time for shipments via the Port of Ambarli on Nov. 17. Allow additional time if traveling near or between Haramidere Sanayi Bus Stop and the Port of Ambarli in the afternoon or evening hours. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
