Activists plan to protest at Limassol Marina in Cyprus from 13:00 on Dec. 8. The demonstration will express support for Syrian rebels fighting in Syria. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend.
Law enforcement officers indicate they will deploy significant numbers of officers to the area to secure the gathering. Counter-demonstrations are likely. Confrontations, potentially escalating to clashes, between demonstrators, law enforcement officers, and counter-demonstrators cannot be ruled out.
