Germany: Activists plan to conduct protest march in Dresden Dec. 13
Activists plan to march from City Hall to Schlossplatz in Dresden, Germany, from 17:00 Dec. 13. Transport disruptions likely.
Activists plan to march from City Hall on Rathausplatz to Schlossplatz in Dresden from 17:00 Dec. 13. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce budget cuts proposed by Dresden lawmakers. Along the way, organizers plan to rally on Hasenburg at 17:30, then to rally upon arrival at Schlossplatz at 18:30. Several hundred participants attended a related demonstration on Nov. 21.
Police will likely deploy along the march route to facilitate the demonstration. The procession will likely disrupt vehicular transport. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, frustrated motorists, or low-level confrontations cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the march route. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
