India: Disruptions to rail services via parts of Jharkhand State scheduled between Dec. 5-7 due to planned maintenance work
Rail service disruptions scheduled in Jharkhand State, India, Dec. 5-7 due to planned infrastructure maintenance work. Confirm travel plans.
The South Eastern Railway Company has announced a slate of cancellations and route changes on trains serving parts of Jharkhand State Dec. 5-7 due to planned maintenance works that will be taking place at Kotshila Station. Specific service changes include:
Cancellations
Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) trains 08641/08642 serving Adra-Barkakana-Adra Dec. 6-7;
MEMU passenger trains 03597/03598 between Ranchi and Asansol on Dec. 6-7;
MEMU passenger trains 18085/18086 between Kharagpur and Ranchi on Dec. 6-7;
Trains 08695/08696 between Bokaro Steel City and Ranchi on Dec. 6-7;
Trains 13503/13504 between Bardhaman and Hatia on Dec. 6-7.
At least 13 other trains, primarily those serving Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Hatia, will operate on altered or shortened routes through Dec. 7.
Additional passenger and freight train service cancellations and schedule changes are possible. Delays could extend beyond Dec. 7 as carriers reposition rolling stock and work through any passenger backlogs.
Confirm rail schedules and allow additional time for shipments if disruptions are prolonged. Make alternative arrangements for time-sensitive freight and passenger transport. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
