Port workers are blocking port entrances, which has caused significant traffic disruptions on major roads close to the port, including the A7, A10, and A12. The 24-hour strike was an immediate response to a fatal accident that occurred at the Port of Genoa's PRA Terminal in the early morning of Dec. 18, in which one worker was killed. Unions are demanding improved safety standards for port workers.
