Ground delay in effect at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ, US, until at least early Dec. 6 due to equipment outage.
Flight disruptions will likely affect Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in Newark, New Jersey, for several hours after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground delay for the facility on Dec. 5 due to an equipment outage. The ground delay program is slated to be in effect until at least 01:59 Dec. 6. Flight departures to EWR were delayed by an average of 182 minutes as of around 14:45 Dec. 5. The FAA may extend or rescind the ground stop or issue additional air traffic control measures for EWR on short notice.
Residual flight disruptions may persist even after the equipment outage is resolved as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via EWR. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
