US: Flight disruptions likely at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas Dec. 8 due to staffing issues
Staffing issues delaying flights to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, US, Dec. 8; confirm flights.
Flight disruptions are likely at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Texas through at least the evening of Dec. 8 due to staffing issues at the facility. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground delay program for AUS, which is slated to remain in effect until at least 22:59 Dec. 8. Flight departures to AUS were delayed by an average of 93 minutes as of 12:00 Dec. 8, with delays anticipated to increase over the coming hours. The FAA may extend, rescind, or otherwise modify the ground delay on short notice.
The FAA may also issue additional ground delay programs and/or ground stops for AUS over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible even after the measure expires as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via AUS through Dec. 8. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
