Weather-related flight disruptions will likely continue at Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida through at least the early evening of Dec. 29. As of 15:00, the facility is reporting numerous delays and several cancellations due to thunderstorms in the area. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground delay directive for flights to MCO through at least 15:45 Dec. 29; departure delays from the facility are averaging 60 minutes. The FAA could extend the ground stop, if conditions warrant.

Residual delays could continue for several hours after weather conditions improve as carriers reposition aircraft and work through their passenger backlogs.

Reconfirm flights if booked to travel via MCO through at least the early evening of Dec. 29. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
