US: Maintenance-related flight disruptions likely at Miami International Airport through at least late Dec. 5
Flight disruptions likely to continue at Miami International Airport, FL, US, through Dec. 5 due to maintenance. Confirm flights.
Maintenance-related flight delays and cancellations will likely continue to affect Miami International Airport (MIA) in Florida through at least late Dec. 5. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground delay program at MIA due to scheduled maintenance related to a window replacement in the air traffic control (ATC) tower.
The ground delay program is slated to be in effect until at least 22:59 Dec. 5. Flight departures to MIA were delayed by an average of 176 minutes as of around 14:45 Dec. 5. The FAA may extend or rescind the ground stop or issue additional air traffic control measures for MIA on short notice.
Residual flight disruptions may persist even after the maintenance issue is resolved as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via MIA through at least late Dec. 5. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
