US: Unionized delivery workers continue strike in several cities as of Dec. 20
Disruptions possible as unionized delivery workers continue indefinite strike in several cities across the US as of Dec. 20.
Unionized Amazon delivery workers affiliated with the Teamsters Union continue to strike in several cities throughout the US as of Dec. 20. Between 7,000 and 10,000 workers have reportedly been striking since Dec. 19 at facilities in at least five locations: New York City, New York; Atlanta, Georgia; San Francisco, California; Skokie, Illinois; and Southern California. Union leaders said the strike may extend to additional locations in those four states. Workers are demanding contract negotiations to improve salaries and working conditions.
The strike may impact the delivery of packages, especially near the impacted facilities, although company officials said the strike would have only limited impact on their operations. The striking workers could stage protests near Amazon facilities.
Avoid all protests that materialize. Contact the company if you have urgent deliveries.
