US: Weather conditions prompt ground delay programs at airports in New York metropolitan area Dec. 10
Low ceilings prompt ground delay programs at airports in New York metropolitan area, US, Dec. 10; flight disruptions likely.
Flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, will likely affect airports in the New York metropolitan area into at least late Dec. 10 due to low clouds impacting the area. As of around 15:30 Dec. 10, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had issued ground delay programs for the following airports in the region:
Teterboro Airport (TEB): Ground delay scheduled to remain in effect through at least 21:59 Dec. 10.
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): Ground delay scheduled to remain in effect through at least 23:59 Dec. 10.
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK): Ground delay scheduled to remain in effect through at least 23:59 Dec. 10.

The FAA may modify or rescind the abovementioned air traffic control programs on short notice.
The FAA may also issue additional ground delay programs and/or ground stops for airports in the New York metropolitan area, including Westchester County Airport (HPN), over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible through early Dec. 11 even after conditions improve as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via TEB, EWR, JFK, EWR, or other airports in the New York metropolitan area through at least late Dec. 10. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
