Flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, will likely affect airports in the US Northeast region from the Washington, DC, area northward to Boston into at least late Dec. 11 due to severe weather and high wind conditions. As of around 13:30 Dec. 11, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had issued ground delay programs for the following airports:
Teterboro Airport (TEB): Ground delay scheduled to remain in effect through at least 20:59 Dec. 11.

Delays have been averaging up to 104 minutes at TEB, 88 minutes at EWR, 154 minutes at JFK, 75 minutes at DCA, and 128 minutes at BOS. The FAA may modify or rescind the abovementioned air traffic control programs on short notice.
The FAA may also issue additional ground delay programs and/or ground stops for other airports in area, including Westchester County Airport (HPN), Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), or Dulles International Airport (IAD), over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible through early Dec. 12 even after conditions improve as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via the affected airports through at least late Dec. 11. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
