US: Weather conditions prompting disruptions at Dallas Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field airports in Texas, Dec. 26 /update 1
Severe weather causing flight disruptions at airports in Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, Texas, US, Dec. 26.
Flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, are likely to continue at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Dallas Love Field (DAL) on Dec. 26 due to severe weather impacting the area. As of around 15:00 CST, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued ground delay programs for the two facilities until at least 20:00. Delays have been averaging up to 104 minutes at DFW and 107 minutes at DAL. The FAA may modify or rescind the air traffic control programs on short notice.
Disruptions are possible through late Dec. 26 and early Dec. 27 even after conditions improve as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via DFW or DAL through at least early Dec. 27. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
