Authorities continue to respond to an explosion at the Ministry of Labor building on Calle Delgadillo in Tarija, Tarija Department, as of the evening of Jan. 2. Authorities have stated the blast was due to an accumulation of gas in the structure. The explosion injured at least one person and significantly damaged the building.
Business and transport disruptions are likely in the area through at least early Jan. 3.
Avoid the area until police give the all-clear. Allow for additional transit time near the site of the blast. Strictly heed the instructions of emergency personnel.
