Burst pipe prompts water disruptions in San Isidro District of Lima, Peru, Jan. 6; water service estimated to be restored by 15:00.
Water disruptions have been reported in the San Isidro District of Lima after a water main burst on Jan. 6. Sedapal, Lima's state-owned water company, has estimated that water service will be restored at 15:00 in the district, which is home to many of the capital's business-class hotels and the headquarters of several of Peru's largest corporations.
The water disruptions may persist in some locations beyond the estimated restoration time.
If operating in the impacted area, stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Water pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water.
