International flight operations to and from Damascus International Airport in Syria to resume from Jan. 7. Reconfirm reservations.

The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority has announced the resumption of international flights at Damascus International Airport (DAM) starting Jan. 7. Flights were suspended after the collapse of former President Bashar al-Assad's government on Dec. 8. Qatar Airways (QR) has stated it will operate three weekly flights to Damascus beginning Jan. 7.

Residual delays are likely through mid-January as the country's new leadership works to restore and improve infrastructure.
