Healthcare workers affiliated with multiple unions plan to conduct a strike across Turkiye Jan. 6-10. Strike participants have announced that related protests are scheduled at the following locations and times:
Jan. 6: Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate on Peykhane Caddesi in Fatih from 13:00.
Jan. 8: Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine (Capa Tip Fakultesi) on Turgut Ozal Millet Caddesi in Fatih from 12:30.
Jan. 10: Kadikoy Square from 13:00.
Additional demonstrations are likely to materialize near government and medical facilities in urban centers across the country.
Medical service disruptions will likely affect medical facilities nationwide during the strike period and could linger into Jan. 11. Police will likely deploy to facilitate any demonstrations that occur; localized transport disruptions are possible. The Jan. 10 protest on Kadikoy Square will likely disrupt access to the Kadikoy metro station and ferry terminals in Kadikoy, Istanbul; however, metro and ferry service disruptions are unlikely.
